"Unstoppable" is an evolution of my other artwork "The Brave are Free" that pays tribute to some of the most influential and impactful feminists in history - Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Angela Davis, Marsha P. Johnson, Audre Lorde, and Roxanne Gay.
This piece was particularly meaningful for me to create, as it allowed me to explore intersectional feminism and the ways in which various identities and experiences intersect to shape the movement for gender justice.
By incorporating elements of flowers, which symbolise rebirth and growth, I aimed to highlight the resilience and strength of these women, who have tirelessly advocated for the rights and liberation of marginalized communities.
The use of the colour pink, often associated with femininity, also plays a role in this piece. While it is often used to diminish or trivialize the experiences and struggles of women, I wanted to reclaim it as a symbol of empowerment and pride.
As we continue to strive for equality and equity, I hope this artwork serves as a reminder of the vital work being done by intersectional feminists everywhere and inspires us to keep pushing for a more just and inclusive society.
